Scams aren't new in any industry. For a long time, people have tried to bilk homeowners of cash. And during the middle of summer, fraud is at its most aggressive! A myriad of unscrupulous individuals emerges from the shadows making false statements regarding lighting, electrical, and other work for which they don't intend on actually performing.
How to Spot an Electrical SCAM
The best way to protect yourself from fraud is to be aware of the formulas they use. There are a limited number of methods to deal with an individual and as many methods to betray them. It's all about knowing the way they play and knowing the indicators.
Telltale Signs of Scammers
It's difficult to tell them apart just by their appearance, but many of them have the same imperfections.
Scammers do not have the proper credentials. Make sure that the electrician you work with is certified and licensed. Also, ensure that they're certified and licensed in the state they plan to work in! If the electrician you hire isn't licensed for work within Canada, it isn't possible to be employed in Canada.
Scammers are trying too hard. Have you ever met individuals who seem overly friendly? It's usually a sign that they're either not genuine or are hiding something. Scammers frequently do this. They're in a hurry, are trying to convince you to sign the deal, or to pay money before being caught. This reality often causes them to play to appear convincing!
